I have been in the market for a professional / commercial grade blender for a very long time and I have spend hours researching the cost / features of several blenders. I found myself in need of a high powered blender because my Oster 6803 450 Watt blender was not up to the task of processing large chunks of frozen fruit for smoothies, and would simply lock up. I ended up looking into the blenders that dessert and smoothie shops use and that what lead me to the Waring MX line of blenders, the Vitamix 5200, and the Blendtec 1560-Watt Blender.
After comparing all three blenders I opted to go with the Waring due to the MX series all metal construction between the drive shaft and the gears on the actual carafe, the lower price, and the fact that the Warring also has models lacking the electronic membrane keyboard interface (Unnecessarily complex and very expensive to repair down the line).
